AMHERST, Mass. -- The Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams bounced back with victories on Wednesday night, defeating Amherst.
In the men's match, Dartmouth posted a 6-3 victory as the top six players on the ladder all won their matches.
Starting at the top, freshman Andrew Boumford (Winnipeg, Man.), junior Todd Wood (Jamestown, R.I.) and senior Hank Alexander (Cincinnati, Ohio) all won in three games.
At Nos. 4-5, freshman Ted Newhouse (Bronxville, N.Y.) and senior Adam Slutsky (Providence, R.I.) posted 3-1 wins, while sophomore Adam King (Oromocto, N.B.) blanked his opponent, 3-0.
Despite having sophomore Ashley Malenchak (Portage la Prairie, Man.) out of her No. 2 position with an injury, Dartmouth took a 9-0 decision from Amherst as everyone won her match, 3-0.
The win was paced by senior Julia Drury (Buffalo, N.Y.) at No. 1, sophomore Rebecca Loucks (Boston, Mass.) at No. 2, and freshman Madeline Lurio (Marion, Pa.) at No. 3.
The women, 4-3, and the men, 6-3, will host their own Winter Classic on Saturday-Sunday, January 28-29.
