“This was a tough game and we knew we had to win today to keep our Ivy Title and NCAA hopes alive,” said Head Coach Jeff Cook. “Once we got behind, it was tough to catch up, but I still felt we could win it because this team has so much character...I guess in the end it wasn't meant to be today.”
Harvard pressured
The Crimson wasted little time before getting on the board in the second half. Michael Fucito sent the ball into the box from the left side and Charles Altchek timed his header perfectly to get past the reach of Anders in the 51st minute.
Despite Harvard's 1-0 lead,
The Crimson extended its lead to 2-0 in the 79th minute when John Stamatis connected from close range after a cross from Andre Akpan. Harvard would score again just three minutes later as Akpan beat Anders one-on-one in the box off a pass from Brian Grimm.
The Big Green continued to fight in the waning minutes of the game and the fifth time proved a charm for senior Mark Limpert (
Anders finished with seven saves in goal while Adam Hahn made three stops for Harvard. The Big Green held an 8-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

The Big Green is back in action on November 4 when it heads to Cornell for its final regular season contest.
