A New Look at Linebacking for Big Green

Hanover -- The play itself had all the staying power of a meteor shower.
When
Josh Dooley scooped up a fumble and scampered 29 yards for a touchdown in last year's season-opener against Colgate, it generated enough momentum to push Dartmouth to a startling 26-21 victory over an eventual Division I-AA playoff team.
But the energy of that win, the season at large and eventually the linebacker responsible for the Big Green's first score of 2005 disappeared. Dooley, a second-team All-Ivy honoree and an ECAC Robbins Division I Scholar Athlete to boot, has graduated, leaving Dartmouth's linebacker unit in a state of flux as the Sept. 16 lid-lifter versus Colgate draws nigh.
