HANOVER, N.H. -- The Dartmouth men's basketball team will be trying to get back on winning track when it takes on Army at West Point, N.Y., Saturday afternoon.
The Big Green (5-5) had won four of its previous five games before dropping an 85-63 decision at Quinnipiac on Wednesday. Army (5-5) lost a 58-54 contest against Quinnipiac on Dec. 9 before getting back to .500 with a 66-63 win over Florida Gulf Coast in its last game back on Dec. 13.
Dartmouth leads the all-time series with the Cadets, 16-13. The Big Green has won three straight against Army, including a 66-58 decision last January in Hanover.
Junior forward Alex Barnett continues to lead Dartmouth with 16.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Junior guard DeVon Mosley is next in scoring with a 13.9 average while senior forward John Ball is second in rebounding at 5.6 per game.
The Army game is a homecoming game of sorts for fourth-year Dartmouth coach Terry Dunn. After enjoying success at Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, Colo., from 1982-1990, he began his collegiate coaching career at Army in the 1990-91 season.
After the game at West Point Dartmouth will be off until Dec. 31, when it travels to Siena for a 2 p.m. contest. Dartmouth will then open the Ivy League season at Harvard on Jan. 5, before ending a four-game road stretch with a return engagement against Harvard at Leede Arena on Jan. 11.
