HANOVER, N.H. - Co-captain
Jason Meyer (Covington, Ohio) was honored by Dartmouth men's basketball Sunday night as the team held its annual end-of-season banquet.
Meyer was presented the John DiIorio '56 Award for hustle, drive and determination. The senior overcame a devastating ankle injury that sidelined him for most of the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. This year, he played in all 27 of the Big Green's games, starting 11, and contributing a career-high 18 points against Hartford.
The Alvin F. "Doggie" Julian Award for spirit and enthusiasm went to
Robby Pride (Denver, Colo.), a freshman guard. Pride came off the bench to help in 16 games and was cited for his work ethic and passion.
Sophomore
Alex Barnett (St. Louis, Mo.) earned the Rudy LaRusso '59 Award as Dartmouth's most improved player. As a freshman, Barnett started three of 26 games, averaging 3.6 ppg. This year, he was the Big Green's second leading scorer with 11.8 per game. He reached double figures in 17 games and had four double-doubles on the year.
With his team-leading 6.0 rebounds per game, Barnett also was named the Big Green's outstanding rebounder.
Other honors went to junior
Johnathan Ball (Memphis, Tenn.) who earned the squad's "hard hat" award for outstanding attitude and work ethic. He averaged 5.6 rebounds per game and was Dartmouth's fourth leading scorer with 7.6. Ball shared the award as the outstanding defender with sophomore guard
DeVon Mosley (Mesquite, Texas), a starter in 24 games who averaged 8.4 ppg, third best for Dartmouth.
Senior
Leon Pattman (Memphis, Tenn.) was honored as Dartmouth's outstanding offensive player. He led the Big Green with 16.0 ppg, leading Dartmouth in scoring in 10 of the 19 games he played.
