Williamstown, MA - With only the Middlebury carnival left in the 2008 EISA Carnival season, the Dartmouth ski team enters the final stages of its season with five wins and one third place finish. Both the Big Green cross country and alpine teams have showed incredible depth and increasing consistency as the season has progressed. The victory at this weekend's Williams carnival attests to the increasing momentum the team has gathere as it enters the final races of the season.
The Big Green cross-country team won the women's classic sprint relay with a time of 31:51.7. Dartmouth senior and captain

Susan Dunklee and junior
Hannah Dreissigacker formed the winning team, with UNH's Marline Cook, Natasha Kullas, and Sarah Wright behind them in second, and Middlebury's Sophie McClelland, Cassidy Edwards, and Robyn Anderson in third.
Dartmouth's cross-country men complimented their female counterparts' win with their own victory in the men's classic sprint relay. Sophomore
Patrick O'Brien, freshmen Nils Koons and senior Dakota Blackhorse Von-Jess won the race with a time of 27:14.40, with Middlebury's Tim Reynolds, Matthew Johnson, and Patrick Johnson in second, and UNH's Shane MacDowell, Rody Lageson, and Dylan McGuffin in third.
Big Green freshmen Courtney Hammond, coming off of a victory in last week's Dartmouth Carnival slalom, won today's slalom with a time of 1:35.89. UVM's Jilyne McDonald finished behind her in second and UNH's Veronique Archambault-Leger finished third. Dartmouth freshmen Kelsey Roddick stepped up to finish seventh in today's slalom with senior teammate and captain
Michelanne Shields just behind her in tenth.
Colby's Vincent Lebrun-Fortin won the men's slalom with a time of 1:30.78, with Williams' Charles Christianson in second and UVM's Greg Hardy in third. Junior
Rusty Heise lead the Big Green squad with his eighth place finish, with freshmen teammate Ace Tarberry behind him in 25th. Heise and Tarberry were the only two finishers from the Big Green men's alpine team.
Dartmouth won the overall carnival with 617 points. Middlebury finished second with 608 points and the University of New Hampshire finished third with 587 points.
Middlebury will host the EISA Carnival Championship race on Feb. 22-23.
