PARK CITY, UTAH - The 2026 NCAA Skiing Championship kicked off Wednesday with the giant slalom at Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at the Utah Olympic Park.

The men and women combined for two top-ten finishes and four overall finishers on day one, currently sitting in seventh place with 60 total points.

Carly Elsinger led the way for the Big Green women, making her third NCAA Championship appearance. The senior finished her first run in 1:04.68, the fourth fastest time of the field. She then posted a 1:02.04 second run time, earning ninth overall and Second-Team All-American honors with a combined time of 2:06.72, less than a second off the podium.

Zoe Zimmermann's giant slalom race was highlighted by her second run. After posting a 1:10.07 first run time, she finished with the sixth fastest second run time to jump four spots in the overall standings. Zimmermann finished her second run in 1:00.89, one of only six skiers to finish sub 1:01, earning 25
th overall with a combined time of 2:10.96.

Emma Resnick also competed for the Big Green but did not finish her first run.

On the men's side,
Oscar Zimmer continued to impress, claiming First-Team All-America status for a fifth-place overall finish. Zimmer posted the fourth fastest first run time, finishing in 57.99 before finishing his second run in 58.25. His combined time of 1:56.24 was just over two tenths of a second off the podium.

Calum Langmuir finished his first run in 1:08.71 before posting the ninth fastest second run time. His 57.97 second run gave him a final time of 2:06.68.

Heming Sola also competed for Dartmouth, finishing his first run in 58.85. Despite sitting in the top half ahead of the second run, Sola did not finish the next run.

The National Championship will continue Thursday, as Nordic competition begins at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center with the 7.5K classic interval start.
John Steel Hagenbuch will compete for his third straight individual championship in the 7.5k distance and
Cooper Camp will look for his second straight All-America status for the men, while
Ava Thurston will look to avenge fourth place and earn a spot on the podium.
