Women's Golf Competes at Round One of Ivy Championships

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. ? The Dartmouth women's golf team currently sits in sixth place following round one of the Ivy League Championships from the par-72 Atlantic City Country Club.

Harvard leads the event after day one with a 9-over 585, while the Big Green finished the opening round with a 666.

Junior Tory Sheppard (Fishers, Ind.) led the Big Green with a 36-hole opening round score of 80-79-159, which was tied for 22nd overall. Senior Libby Wegener (Shorewood, Minn.) was not far behind with a score of 82-83-165.

The Big Green has three more golfers competing, including junior Lauren Strickler (Akron, Ohio) who fired an 84-87-171. Senior Elizabeth Dupuy (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished round one with a 84-88-172, while freshman Katharine Gulemi (Fairfield, Conn.) ended her first Ivy Championship day with an 89-93-173.

The Ivy League Championships continue tomorrow morning with the teams teeing off at 7:30 a.m. from the Atlantic City Country Club.
