Lauren Strickler (Akron, Ohio) paced the Dartmouth women's golf team at the University of Cincinnati Women's Spring Invitational, shooting 253 (89-79-85) and finishing in 66th place. Dartmouth finished with a score of 1020, four shots behind Eckerd who finished in 16th.
Marietta Smith (Mount Prospect, Ill.) was right on Strickler's heels, ending the tournament one shot behind her teammate (84-85-85). Senior
Tory Sheppard (Fishers, Ind.) contributed to the Big Green's overall score with a tournament score of 258 (83-85-90), edging
Katharine Gulemi's (Fairfield, Conn.) score of 259 (85-91-83). Freshman
Heather Roland (Newton Square, Pa.) was the fifth member of Dartmouth's team, recording a three-round score of 266 (87-90-89). Classmate
Kathleen Quirk (Kansas City, Mo.) competed as an individual, shooting 260 (87-82-91) to tie for 82nd overall.
Baylor claimed the overall team title with a score of 918. The Bears placed three of five team players in the top six while their individual player, Jordan Rhodes, finished second.
Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn was the tournament medalist, shooting 223 (74-77-72) to edge Rhodes by two strokes.
The Big Green return to the links April 4 and 5 to play in the Brown Invitational.
