HANOVER, N.H. — Freshman Emily Hyman carded a five-over 77 in the final round of the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club on Sunday to help the host Big Green move up two spots in the final standings to fifth out of the 20 teams participating. Dartmouth had the third-best round as a team with a 315 to finish the tournament with a 638.
Hyman tied for 15th in the final standings with a 156 (+12), but sophomore Heather Roland placed the highest for the Big Green with a 77-79¬--154 (+10), tying for 10th. Junior captain Katie Gulemi rebounded from an 83 in the first round to shoot 78 today to finish in a tie for 25th with a 161.
Rounding out the team were sophomore Marietta Smith with an 82-81—163 in a tie for 34th and fellow sophomore Kathleen Quirk with 87s each day to tie for 76th.
Two freshmen, Colleen Carroll and Julie Campbell, completed the tournament as individuals with the former tying for 22nd place with 78-82—160 and the latter tying for 57th with an 82-86—168.
Towson University entered the day with a three-stroke lead and held on to best Boston College, which shot a 310 for the low round of the day, by two strokes for the team title with a 625, just 13 strokes ahead of Dartmouth. But Boston College's Eunice Yim took home medalist honors at just five-over par for the two rounds with a 149 as she tied for the low round on each day (75-74).
Dartmouth returns to the links next Saturday at the Yale Invitational for the two-day event.
