Vermont (7-4) won 10 events on the day while Dartmouth (0-5) won just four swimming races but swept the top-three spots in both diving events.
Sophomore Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) won both the one and three-meter dives, scoring 260.99 points in the one-meter and 267.67 in the three. Serpico was at least 30 points ahead of both runners-up, teammates Kate O'Brien (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) in the one-meter and Kathleen Brady (Upland, Calif.) in the three-meter. Each took third in the other event.
Dartmouth won four swimming events starting with freshman Charlotte Williams' (Boca Raton, Fla.) victory in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.37. Teammate Caitlin Keenan (Encinitas, Calif.) was the next Big Green finisher at fourth in 1:12.09. Virginia Selden (Birmingham, Ala.) won the 200 butterfly in the next event in 2:10.76. Caitlin Nicholson (Ithaca, N.Y.) improved on her fifth-place finish in that race with a victory in the 100 butterfly in 59.28. Fellow sophomore Kelsey Pinson (Portland, Ore.) was third in 1:00.14.
The Big Green also won the 400 freestyle relay with the team of Caitlin Foley (Chesapeake, Va.), Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.), Nicholson and Maddie Steiner (Dallas, Texas) finishing in 3:39.04.
Individually, Steiner took second in the 200 IM in 2:14.57 with Galen Barry (Wayne, Pa.) just behind her for third in 2:15.68. Barry took a close second herself in the 200 backstroke in 2:08.96 with Linsday Wahl (Pittsford, N.Y.) third in 2:15.04. The versatile Steiner was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.47 and third in the 200 freestyle in 1:57.93. Barry took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:01.47 while senior Carolyn Rippe (Colleyville, Texas) took fourth in 1:02.98.
Elizabeth Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.) took second place finishes in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events in 25.46 and 54.88, respectively. Foley was third in the 100 in 54.94 and fourth in the 50 in 25.80. Guardalabene took third behind Kamai in the 50 with a time of 25.52. Senior Catherine Armstrong (Marietta, Ga.) was the top Dartmouth finisher in the 1000 freestyle in 11:09.10.
Dartmouth's other relay team, the 200 medley group of Barry, Williams, Pinson and Guardalabene, took second in 1:52.91.
The Big Green is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 10 when it hosts Boston University at 1 p.m.
