Women's Varsity Eight Takes Third at Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Dartmouth women's crew enjoyed a third-place finish for the varsity eight at the Princeton Three-Mile Chase this Sunday. It was the first event of the fall season for the Big Green.

Dartmouth's varsity eight finished third in a time of 14:57.767, nearly four seconds ahead of Virginia's second varsity eight in 15:01.312. Princeton won its own event going away, however, in a time of 14:22.518.

The Big Green's second varsity eight also rowed in the race and took 24^th in 16:05.098.

Dartmouth entered three boats in the varsity four race with the first varsity taking ninth in 17:54.020. The third varsity four finished 11^th in 17:54.887 and the second varsity finished 12^th in 17:56.656. Princeton swept the first four places starting with a win by its first varsity four in 16:34.572.

The Dartmouth women will host their annual freshman regatta, the Green Monster, this Saturday, Nov. 6.
