The Dartmouth novice women entered two boats and placed first and second, respectively, on the Connecticut River course. Dartmouth's first novice boat crossed in a winning time of 15:16.2 followed by the second novice boat in 15:24.0. That eight was just 1.5 seconds ahead of Radcliffe. Seventeen boats raced in the event.
The top Dartmouth finisher in the men's race was the heavyweight first freshman boat, taking third in 13:25.8. Trinity's heavies took first and second place with a winning time of 13:22. The Dartmouth first freshman lightweight boat took fifth in the race in 13:50.0.
Dartmouth's second lightweight eight finished 13th in 14:19.8 and the third lightweights took 21st in 16:01.2. The second heavyweight eight finished in 19th with a time of 15:45.7.
