Dartmouth Lightweights Compete at Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. - Dartmouth's lightweight rowers trekked to New Jersey this weekend to row in the Princeton Three-Mile chase, capped with a 12^th place finish for the varsity.

The varsity eight took 12^th in a time of 13:52.191 just behind Navy's second varsity and just ahead of Penn's first varsity eight. Princeton won its own event in a time of 13:17.687, followed by Harvard in second.

Dartmouth entered four boats in the varsity four race, with the first and second crews taking14th and 15^th, respectively. The first varsity four finished in a time of 16:00.336 and the second varsity crossed in 16:03.016. Harvard won the race in 14:31.657.

The Big Green's rookies took 12^th place in the freshman eight, which was a mixed event of heavy and lightweight crews. The Big Green finished in 14:15.155, less than a second behind Navy's second boat and serving as the dividing line in the race. The 13^th place crew, MIT lights, finished in 14:34.757.

Dartmouth will host its own event this Saturday with the annual Green Monster freshman regatta.
