Dartmouth Junior Braden Long Heads to World University Games

MONTREAL - David Côté, head coach of McGill alpine ski team, has been named to the coaching staff for the CIS team that will represent Canada in alpine skiing at the 2011 Winter Universiade, also known as the World University Winter Games, in Erzurum, Turkey, Jan. 27 to Feb. 6. Dartmouth's Braden Long has also been chosen as one of the representatives for the men's team.

Côté, a 25-year-old native of Boucherville, Que., is in his fourth season as head coach at McGill, after two years coaching with the Bromont ski club. At the Games, he will work under head coach and team leader Vincent Lavoie of Université Laval.

The six-member women's squad is comprised of College François-Xavier-Garneau teammates Maëlle Bergeron and Catherine Morel, Westminster College's Kendall Brown, Harvard's Rebecca Nadler, Nevada Reno's Nicole Poleschuk, as well as Marie-France Tessier of the Montreal Carabins.

Laval teammates Philippe Crête-Belzile and Simon Mannella, Montana State's Christopher Barber, Montreal's Olivier Lacaille.
