Men's Tennis Falls to UC Santa Barbara in Last Match of Spring Trip

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team took a 7-0 loss to UC Santa Barbara on the final day of its west coast spring trip. The Big Green overall record dropped to 9-6.

Despite the score, there were three matches that went the distance with three sets. Unfortunately, the Big Green didn't come through on any of them as Dartmouth dropped them all. Senior Dan Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) played a very solid match against Phil Thorp at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) and freshman Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) also won their first sets before dropping their matches.

The Guachos came into the match after defeating the 31st-ranked BYU.

The Big Green had a good trip out to the west coast, going 2-3 against some of the best talent in the country. The Ivy League season begins this Friday afternoon at Cornell at 2 p.m. in Ithaca.
