NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at Columbia on Saturday and took the top spot over Columbia and Yale. The Big Green finished with 78 points, Yale came in second with 53 and Columbia finished third with 40.
Dartmouth picked up several points in the 60m hurdles by taking the top three spots. Senior Christopher Fletcher (Annapolis, Md.) won the event at 8.60, sophomore Jacob Evanter (Marblehead, Mass.) finished second at 8.69 and sophomore Brendin Beaulieu-Jones (Vernon, Conn.) took third at 8.76. Sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) placed first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.93.
The Big Green took the top two spots in the 3000m run. Sophomore Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) crossed the finish line first at 8:17.03, with teammate senior Tom Robbins (Evanston, Ill.) right behind him in second (8:20.76). Sophomore Anthony Romaniw (Hamilton, Ont.) finished first in the mile at 4:10.19.
In the field events, freshman Jeremy Thibodeau (Rigaud, Ont.) won the high jump (1.85m), freshman Dom Filiano (Lebanon, N.H.) placed first in the shot put (15.31m) and senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) took the top spot in the weight throw (18.65m).
Dartmouth also won both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. The Big Green compete next weekend, Jan. 27-29, at the Multi-Event Meet and the Terrier Classic.
