HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's indoor track and field finished second at the 42nd annual Dartmouth Relays on Sunday. Northeastern took the top spot with 119.20 points. The Big Green finished with 91.90 points. UMass Lowell claimed the third spot with 60 points.
In the weight throw, senior David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) claimed the top spot with a throw of 18.21 meters. Freshman Joseph Woiwode (Rockville, Md.) took first in the 800 with a time of 1:55.52. The Big Green took the top three spots in the 60 meter hurdles, with Christopher Fletcher (Annapolis, Md.) placing first (8.63). In the 60 meter dash final, sophomore Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) won, finishing at 6.88. In the 400 meter dash, freshman Jalil Bishop (Twinsburg, Ohio) finished second at 51.20.
A meet record was set in the 4x200 meter relay. The team from UMass Lowell finished at 1:27.71, which bettered the previous record of 1:27.90 set by Illinois in 2004. Also of note, former Dartmouth coach Carl Wallin won the men's 65 master's shot put event and finished second in the men's 65 master's weight throw.
The Big Green team next competes on Saturday, Jan. 15, when it hosts Vermont and Maine at 12 p.m.
