Centenari's Run Ends at ITA Northeast Regional

ITHACA, N.Y. — Junior Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) of the Dartmouth men's tennis team saw his run at the ITA Northeast Regional come to an end on Monday after a loss in the quarterfinals.
Centenari, the tournament's fourth seed, lost in straight sets to the fifth seed, Vasko Mladenov of St. John's, 6-2, 6-2. Mladenov won his next match in the semifinals in three sets to move on to the finals on Tuesday.
Centenari won three matches on the way to the quarterfinals, including two three-set victories. He made it farther than any other Big Green player. Sophomore Cameron Ghorbani (Lexington, Mass.) reached the round of 16 before losing.
The Big Green return home for the Dartmouth Invitational on Oct. 28-30.
