Centenari & Ghorbani Move on at Dartmouth Invite

HANOVER, N.H. — On the second day of the Dartmouth Invite, junior Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) and sophomore Cameron Ghorbani (Lexington, Mass.) advanced in their singles draws at the Boss Tennis Center.

Centenari competed in the green singles and defeated Hirschberg of Brown to advance to the finals. In the black singles, Ghorbani beat Reichmann of Brown in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, to advance to the finals.

In the blue singles, senior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) lost to Nguyen of Cornell, 6-3, 6-1. Also in the blue singles, freshman Chris Kipouras (San Ramon, Calif.) lost to Specter of Brown, 6-4, 6-1. In the white singles, junior Alex de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) won his semifinal match in the consolation bracket over Holland of Army. Also in the white singles, sophomore Brandon DeBot (Stevens Points, Wis.) withdrew from his semifinal match due to injury.

In doubles, the combo of DeBot and Ghorbani lost to Cornell, 8-3, in the semifinals of the white doubles. In the other semifinals of the white draw, Centenari and Hoe defeated Luu and Fleck of Cornell, 9-8(10). In the green doubles, senior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) and de Chatellus beat Burke and Spector of Brown, 9-8(3) to advance to the finals.

The Dartmouth Invitational will conclude on Sunday.
