PHILADELPHIA, PA. — At the 117th Penn Relays, the Dartmouth women's track and field team had several strong finishes, highlighted by a new school record in the distance medley relay.
In the Distance Medley Championship of America event, the Big Green placed eighth, facing very tough competition. Georgetown won the race with Tennessee finishing second. The Dartmouth quartet of junior Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.), senior Alexandra Tanner (Baltimore, Md.), freshman Monica Adler (Manchester, Mass.) and freshman Abbey D'Agostino (Topsfield, Mass.) finished at 11:16.02, which set a new school record. The previous record was 11:20.35 set in 2003.
In the College's Women's 400-meter hurdles, Tanner took fourth place with a time of 59.07. The three runners who finished ahead of her are all from BCS schools. Senior Jaclyn Wypler (Ridgewood, N.J.) finished fifth in the javelin at 43.74 meters (143-06.00 feet). It marked the third best throw in the history of the program.
In the 4x800 Championship, the quartet of Supino, senior Andrea Imhof (San Francisco, Calif.), freshman Arianna Vailas (Manchester, N.H.) and Adler took ninth place at 8:46.23.
In the 4x400 Heptagonal, the Big Green took fifth place at 3:51.58. The relay consisted of senior Kaleigh Wood (Shortsville, N.Y.), Freshman Megan Krumpoch (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Supino and Tanner.
