MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Dartmouth men's outdoor track & field team wrapped up it's first weekend of the spring season with the final day of the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon.
The meet was held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
In the 400m, Evan Bryant (Baltimore, Md.) and Jalil Bishop (Twinsburg, Ohio) took 33rd and 34th, respectively, separated by just two-hundredths of a second. Bryant crossed in 49.94, while Bishop's time was marked at 49.96.
In the 400-meter hurdles, freshman Chris Pullertis (Boxborough, Mass.) took 16th in a field of nearly 70 with a time of 55.49.
A day after running in the prelims of the 100 meters, Tyrone DeSpenza (New Orleans, La.) and Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the Dartmouth contingent in the 200 meters. In one of the largest field of the day (109), DeSpenza took 30th in 22.16 (+1.5), while Reilly was not far back, crossing in 34th place in 21.70 (+2.7)
The high jump saw Jeremy Birck (Libertyville, Ill.) take eighth, clearing 6-4.75/1.95m on his first attempt at the height.
Josh Cyphers (Grantham, N.H.) was 14th in the pole vault, clearing 14-7.25/4.45 on his first try at the height as well.
The Big Green will stay in the Carolinas another week as they split up to compete in the High Point Invitational (High Point, S.C.) and Baskin Invitational (Columbia, S.C.) on Saturday, March 24.
