HANOVER, N.H. – On the final night of conference action for all Ancient Eight programs, Dartmouth volleyball was defeated by Columbia in straight sets on Senior Night by scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-19. The Big Green ended their season with a record of 13-12 and 4-10 in Ivy League action, while the Lions improved to 8-16 and 4-10 in conference play.

Columbia scored three straight to start the match before senior Alex Schoenberger earned the Big Green's first point with a kill. From there, the Lions scored five straight off four kills and a Dartmouth error, a run that was broken up by an error of their own to go in favor of the home team.

After getting as far as six points behind, Dartmouth went on a four-point rally courtesy of a Lions' error, and two kills and a service ace by Paige Caridi to close the gap (22-19). A kill and a Green error put Columbia at match point and, even though an error on the other side of the net allowed Dartmouth to get one point closer, a kill ended the set.

Set two was more evenly matched, with three ties occurring at the beginning before the Upper Valley squad took its first lead of the day following to Columbia errors and a kill by freshman Sara Lindquist (4-3). The Big Green went on another run following two kills by freshman Marisol Tracy, a Lions' error and a service ace by sophomore Stacey Benton (11-5). Columbia slowly started to lessen the Big Green's lead until it tied the score at 12. Following two kills and two Dartmouth errors, the Lions held a 23-17 advantage. A kill and an error earned them their second victory of the night.

Trailing by two sets, the Green upped the intensity in the third, never allowing the opponent to get more than a handful of points ahead. A kill by junior Kaira Lujan put the home team within one (14-13), but three straight Columbia points put them ahead, once again. After closing the gap slightly, a kill straight down the line ended the set with another Lions' victory.

Caridi led the Green for the second night in a row with nine kills, while Lujan and Schoenberger were second with six apiece. Junior Kayden Cook had 21 assists and sophomore Julia Lau led the team with 16 digs. Benton had two of Dartmouth's three aces.

Following the conclusion of the match, seniors Schoenberger, Lucia Pohlman, Maura Manley and Holly Harper were honored for their contributions to the Big Green program over the past four years.
