FRIDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth field hockey team is back out on the road Friday for a 5 p.m. matchup at Northeastern's Dedham Field.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green fell, 4-2, Tuesday afternoon to visiting Pacific in the 2014 home opener at Chase Field. Dartmouth got goals from Eliza Becker and Ali Savage, but was unable to overcome a surge of scoring from the Tigers in a four-minute span in the opening frame of action.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
The Huskies enter Friday's contest with a 1-2 overall record after losses to Temple and No. 1 Maryland to open the season. Most recently, Northeastern defeated Providence, 5-3, in its home debut Sunday afternoon. So far this season, Natalie Stewart and Emmy Zweserijn have been the offensive catalysts as both have six points. Stewart leads the team with four assists, while Zweserijn's three assists account for nearly half of the team's total output (8). Goalkeeper Becky Garner has played all 208:26 of action, posting a 3.69 goals against average and a .560 save percentage.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE HUSKIES
Northeastern owns a 10-2 advantage in the series between the two programs, including a 5-0 win last season in Boston. Dartmouth's last win against the Huskies came on Oct. 10, 1987, edging Northeastern, 3-2.
SO CLOSE
With her goal against Pacific on Tuesday, Ali Savage moved closer to the 100-point mark. The 38th goal of her career gives the senior from Australia 95 points in 53 games wearing the green and white of Dartmouth. Her 38 goals rank fifth all-time, while her point total currently has her fourth in the program's record book.
DOUBLE UP
Junior Brooke Van Valkenburg registered two assists against the Tigers in the home debut. For Van Valkenburg, it marked just the second multi-point game of her career and the first since her freshman season when she had a goal and an assist against Bryant on Sept. 19, 2012.
GETTING ON THE BOARD
Junior Eliza Becker notched her first goal of the season by redirecting a Van Valkenburg shot attempt on a corner play in the 18th minute. Becker did not have tally as a freshman in 2012, but managed to score seven last fall.
