HANOVER, N.H. – For the fourth straight year, the Dartmouth Relays men's team title belongs to the group that calls Leverone Field House home.
The Big Green put on a dominant showing Sunday afternoon, finishing with 131 team points and the crown at the 46th Annual Dartmouth Relays. The total was 55 points better than second-place Southern Connecticut (76), while also besting programs from UMass Lowell (45), Harvard (42) and others.
Four individuals posted event victories on Sunday for Dartmouth, while both two relay teams claimed the top spots in the standings as well.
Phil Gomez (400m, 49.97), Joey Chapin (3000m, 8:25.09), Max Cosculluela (pole vault, 15-1.00/4.60m) and Alex Frye (high jump, 6-6.25/1.99m) all won their respective events, while the 4x400m (3:23.47) and 4x800m (7:52.92) relay teams took the top prizes for the Big Green.
Chapin led a contingent of Dartmouth runners in the 3000m as the home team took the top four places in the field of 43. Brian Masterson (8:28.79), Miles Irish (8:32.93) and Nat Adams (8:34.95) followed Chapin's lead in the event, claiming second through fourth, respectively.
Senior Dom Filiano had a strong performance Sunday, taking third in both the shot put (54-0.50/16.47m) and the weight throw (54-6.75/16.63m). Colin Minor was fourth in the latter of those two events, finishing one spot back of Filiano in the weight throw with a toss of 54-6.50/16.62m.
Ben Colello had a strong meet, posting the third-fastest time in program history in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.26 in the event final and earning eight points in the process.
Sunday marked the final day of competition at the Dartmouth Relays which got underway Friday night and continued through to Saturday with the high school meet.
