BOSTON – The Dartmouth men's indoor track & field team competed Saturday night at the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University at the BU Track and Tennis Center.
The highlight of the meet was the strong performance of the Big Green's distance runners in both the 3000m and 5000m races.
Junior Curtis King was the top collegiate runner in the 3000, taking fifth overall in a field of nearly 110. King crossed the line in 8:01.27, just a split-second ahead of teammate Joey Chapin, who was sixth in 8:01.46.
The 5000m saw Nat Adams take eighth overall in 14:20.92, while Silas Talbot (10th, 14:28.19) and Brian Masterson (13th, 14:30.30) were not far back in the event.
In the mile, Connor Clark was 20th overall in a field of nearly 200 competitors. Clark ran a 4:09.25 to best almost 180 other runners in the biggest event of the weekend.
Max Cosculluela was ninth in the pole vault, clearing 15-5.0/4.70m on his first attempt at the height.
Phil Gomez claimed 21st in the 400m in 48.88 and Amos Cariati was 13th in the 500m with a 1:04.80 to his credit. Daniel Katz ran an 8.63 in the 60m hurdles to take 25th overall.
Dartmouth's 4x400m relay team of Ben Colello, Nick Creasman, Cariati and Gomez claimed eight with a time of 3:16.02. The event featured 59 relay teams.
