NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dartmouth men's track & field team used eight individual event wins and a relay victory to help secure a first-place finish Saturday in a tri-meet at Yale's Cox Cage.
The Big Green posted 81 points on the afternoon, dominating the two Ivy League foes in the process as Columbia was second with 46, while the host Bulldogs were third with 41 points.
Sprints saw Brett Buskey take first in the 60m in 6.97, while Alex Frye won the 60m hurdles in 8.21.
Phil Gomez took the top spot in the 500m with a 1:03.94 to his credit. The final win on the track came thanks to the 4x400m relay team and their 3:17.30.
Dartmouth was stellar on the infield as five individuals claimed event crowns.
Jeremy Birck was the winner of the high jump, clearing 6-8.25. The pole vault title and five points went to Max Coscuella as he managed to clear the bar at 15-9.0. Nicolas Robinson was also atop the standings in the long jump at the end of the day as his best jump produced a distance of 22-0.0.
Perhaps the most dominating individual student-athlete of the afternoon in New Haven was the Big Green's thrower Dom Filiano. The senior won both the shot put (52-8.25) and the weight throw (56-6.75) at Yale, helping Dartmouth to the victory.
The Big Green are at the Terrier Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 31 at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
