WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Dartmouth men's tennis opened the three-day Wake Forest Invitational on Friday by going 5-10 in both singles and doubles action.
“We got exactly what we wanted out of this event today: lots of tough matches against quality opponents,” assistant coach Tom Boysen said. “It was great to see George competing in his first fall tournament this year. Aman played extremely well in both singles matches today, especially the second one. He was ready to play from the first point and his level was high throughout the match.”
In the first round of doubles, the freshman pairing of Roko Glasnovic and Joey Haig had an 8-5 defeat of Davidson's Krapko and Riazzi.
Sophomore Aman Agarwal picked up the Big Green's lone win in the first round of singles, defeating Lanthiez of Old Dominion by scores of 6-2, 6-3. He advanced to the second round, where he took down Tennessee Tech's Nicolas by the same scores.
In the consolation round of singles, Glasnovic went to three sets against Countee of Eastern Carolina, falling in the first set, 5-7, before coming back to take the next two, 6-4, 6-4. Junior George Wall played his first match of the fall, defeating Acuna of Georgia State, 6-3, 6-3.
