WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Freshmen Joey Haig and Roko Glasnovic won their doubles draw on the final day of the Wake Forest Invitational Sunday. Through the weekend, the Big Green went 10-9.
“Joey and Roko have each had great doubles results individually this fall,” assistant coach Tom Boysen said. “It was a nice way to end our fall season by pairing them together and seeing them win their draw at Wake Forest in dominating fashion. Roko beat a very good opponent from Duke in his final singles match as well. We got to play a lot of tough matches this weekend, which was the goal.
In the last round of the consolation draw of singles, Glasnovic won his match against Ryan Dickerson of Duke, 6-4, 7-5. Sophomore Aman Agarwal and junior George Wall fell to their opponents, but both Green players fought hard to win a set and send the match to three.
Haig and Glasnovic faced Liberty's Egon Samaai and Eddie Gutierrez in the final round, defeating the Flames by a score of 8-0.
Although the team will not compete again until the spring, senior Dovydas Sakinis will represent Dartmouth at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York, from Nov. 12-15.
