HARTFORD, Conn. — The Dartmouth men's squash team has advanced to the championship game of the Hoehn Cup after squeaking past Cornell, 5-4, on Saturday at Trinity.
The championship game will be played on Sunday morning as the top-seeded Princeton Tigers meet second seed Dartmouth at 10:30 a.m. The Tigers defeated the Big Green earlier this season, 6-3, on Jan. 11 in New Jersey.
"It was a great match, beating Cornell twice in four weeks shows the strength of our team,” head coach Hansi Wiens said.
The contest was tied at 4-4 when senior Mark Fun came out with his best collegiate performance and swept Gustav Runersjo in the fourth position.
Juniors Alexander Greer, Kyle Martino, James Fisch and freshman John Harvey each won their respective matches for the Big Green. Greer and Harvey each won in three straight games while Martino needed four and Fisch came back to win in the fifth.
