RALEIGH, N.C. – In the second outdoor meet of the season, several members of the Dartmouth women's track & field team competed at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Friday.
Freshman Marissa Evans ran to a sixth-place finish in the 400m, winning her heat in 56.12 and highlighting the first of two days at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility for the Big Green.
Junior Sarah Bennett took eighth in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:51.30 in the faster of the two heats run on Friday evening.
The 5000m saw a mixed bag of results for Dartmouth as junior Reid Watson's 19th-place finish in 16:31.36 paced the team's trio of harriers in the event. Claudia Pham was 29th overall in a field of more than 120 with a 16:41.21 to her credit, while fellow senior Alison Lanois claimed 41st overall in 16:57.65 and was first the event's third heat.
Fresh off her win in the heptathlon last week at Coastal Carolina, freshman Allison Frantz took 19th in the 100m hurdles at NCSU by running a 14.74.
The non-scoring meet continues Saturday.
