Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Kelly Moore, So., Ottawa, Ontario, Alpine Skiing
Sophomore Kelly Moore, made a big splash during the first carnival weekend of 2016. The native of Ottawa, Ontario, posted not just her first collegiate podium finish, but her first victory as well, besting the field in the giant slalom by more than three-quarters of a second as Dartmouth swept all three top spots. The following day she just missed out on the podium, but still claimed fourth place for herself as she and her teammates took four of the top six times. Thanks in part to both of her scoring efforts, the Big Green won both women's alpine events at Bates and Moore was named the EISA women's alpine skier of the week.
Jack Barre, Sr., Fairfield, Conn., F, Men's Hockey
The senior from Fairfield, Connecticut, had a stellar weekend which earned him ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honors. Barre led the conference in points (5), assists (4) and plus/minus (+4) over the course of the week, helping Dartmouth to a home sweep of Clarkson and No. 18 St. Lawrence. Against the Golden Knights on Friday night, Barre had a career-high three assists in the 5-2 victory, before adding an assist and scoring the game winner the next night against the Saints.
