Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Alexa Dlouhy, So., Montreal, Quebec, Alpine Skiing
Sophomore Alexa Dlouhy was Dartmouth's top female scorer at the NCAA Skiing Championships last week, finishing 13th in the giant slalom before earning second-team All-America honors by placing sixth in the slalom. Her two finishes garnered 45 points for the Big Green, which came in fourth in the team standings with 400 points, their best finish in five years. In 14 career slalom races, Dlouhy has finished seventh or better 13 times with seven podium stops.
Thomas Woolson, Sr., Warren, Vt., Alpine Skiing
Senior Thomas Woolson provided the most points of any Big Green skier at the NCAA Skiing Championships, just missing out on All-America status in the giant slalom with his 11th-place finish before claiming fourth in the slalom for first-team honors. His efforts brought 51 points to the team total, and for the year he placed in the top 11 in 13 of the 14 events in which he raced with nine top-five finishes and four stops on the podium.
