Dartmouth Earns Reserve Title in Sunday Home Show

Tori Bergstein named High Point Rider of the day.

ETNA, N.H. - The Dartmouth equestrian team hosted the first of two home shows of the fall season on Sunday. The Big Green put together a successful day at Morton Farm, claiming reserve champion, second to Vermont.

Dartmouth is currently second overall in the region as the Catamounts swapped positions to take the top spot.

The day was off to a good start with Sabrina Jain and Nancy Curtis each claiming third place in Intermediate Fences and Novice Fences, respectively. Co-captains Olivia Champ and Erin McCarthy-Keeler also had good rounds over fences, finishing fourth place in Open Fences and Intermediate Fences, respectively. Freshman Tori Bergstein had a beautiful ride, winning her Novice Fences class.

Later in the afternoon, Sophie Lenihan took second in her Open Flat class, along with Champ who also placed second in her Open Flat class. McCarthy-Keeler had another strong ride, claiming third place out of nine riders in her Intermediate Flat class. Jain claimed the first-place spot in her Novice Flat class.

Tori Bergstein rode to victory in her Novice Flat class, taking first place. Having won both her Novice Fences and Novice Flat classes, Bergstein earned the title of High Point Rider, as she was the only rider at the show to win both over fences and in flat.

Senior Elizabeth Carroll had a great ride, winning her division of Beginner Walk Trot Canter. Closing the show, fellow senior Margot Putnam had a stunning ride claiming a first-place finish in Walk Trot.
