WORCESTER, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team played a non-conference, midweek match at Holy Cross Tuesday night and defeated the Crusaders 3-0 in Worcester. Freshmen

Dartmouth (7-3-2) outshot Holy Cross (4-9-0) 19-11 and 14-4 on goal. The Crusaders held an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks for the match. Sophomore goalkeeper
Mariel Gordon finished with four saves, recording her seventh shutout of the season which is tied for first in the Ivy League.

"We want to ingrain in our players to make the most of our chances whether it's conference or non-conference, said head coach
Ron Rainey. "We have the expectation of working hard all game and I thought we did that in moments, but we need to stretch it out over a longer period of time to be successful as the season goes on."
"It was great to see Grace (Rorke) get her first career goal." Rainey added.

Holy Cross put the pressure on in the early going of the match, forcing Gordon to make three saves in the first 12 minutes.

Dartmouth took the lead on its second shot of the game in the 23rd minute. Quick passes from
Izzy Glennon and
Bonnie Shea found Mills who headed home her third goal of the season to make it 1-0. Gordon made her fourth and final save of the game in the 19th minute to maintain the Dartmouth lead into halftime.

The Big Green took control in the second half, outshooting the Crusaders 10-4. Two late goals sealed the victory for Dartmouth.
Remy Borinsky found Kawakami who scored from 25 yards out in the 87th minute to make it 2-0. The Big Green were not done yet, Rorke netted her first career goal off an assist from
Hayley Soriano to complete the 3-0 win.

Dartmouth is back in action when Penn comes to Hanover for an Ivy League contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
