Dartmouthsports.com Athletes of the Week - Lippold & O'Connor

Returning from the holiday break, Big Green athletes are continuing where they left off before thanksgiving. Senior Cy Lippold had a career-high five three-pointers in Las Vegas against Middle Tennessee. At the other end of the experience factor, freshman Drew O'Connor had a pair of goals for the men's hockey team against the Catamounts of Vermont.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Drew O'Connor, Fr., Chatham, N.J., F, Men's Hockey

The rookie led Dartmouth with a pair of goals in the team's only game of the weekend, a 5-3 loss to visiting Vermont on Saturday. It was the first two-goal game of the New Jersey native's career and just the second of the season for the Big Green. The second multi-point performance of his young career, O'Connor is second not he team in scoring with seven points while tied for the lead with four goals.

Cy Lippold, Sr., Bronx, N.Y., G, Women's Basketball

Senior guard Cy Lippold sunk a career high five three pointers against Middle Tennessee to lead the Big Green in scoring against the Blue Raiders with 15 points. In her second game in Vegas against UC Santa Barbara, Lippold did a little bit of everything, she finished with six points, eight assists and four steals while playing all 40 minutes of action.
