PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After day one of the Bruno Invitational, the Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team is in fifth place with 129 points, sitting ahead of Johns Hopkins (106) and Rider (40). Host Brown is currently in first place (269).
To kick off the weekend, the Big Green's 200-yard freestyle A relay placed fifth (1:33.18). Made up of
Zoe Wortzman,
Summer Martin,
Mackenzie Stumpf and
Ashley Post, Dartmouth touched six-tenths of a second ahead of Brown.
Mia Leko picked up 17 points by taking second in the A final of the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.79), finishing just four-tenths of a second behind Villanova's Nicole Welch. Swimming in the B final, Sarah Minigh placed ninth (4:55.73). In the 200-yard IM, Stumpf was 15th (2:04.63) while Wortzman swam the 50-yard freestyle and took eighth (23.53).
The Big Green were eighth and ninth in the 400-yard medley relay; the A relay (made up of
Connie Zhang, Stumpf, Leko and Post) led the way in 3:46.48, while the B relay (composed of
Susannah Laster,
Maggie Deppe-Walker,
Cathleen Li and Martin) followed in 3:47.07.
Dartmouth will return to the water for prelims at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Finals will follow at 6 p.m.
