THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth volleyball will head out on one last road trip, heading to Penn and Princeton for the final two matches of the 2018 season.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green split their matches at Leede Arena last weekend, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to take Brown down in five sets (23-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-10) before falling to Yale in three close sets on Senior Day (21-25, 23-25, 24-26).
Â
There were a lot of career-bests in the match against the Bears.
Elise Petit led the team with 16 kills and added six digs to finish with 16 points, which was good for second.
Carly Tower was first with 16.5 points and 14 kills, both of which were career-highs,
Zoe Leonard had a personal best 33 digs and
Annemarie Horn had 29 assists and 13 digs, getting her second double-double of the season.
Â
The next day, Petit was first with six kills and 10 points, adding two service aces, one dig and four block assists. Appearing in their last matches at Leede,
Samantha Bozoian and Leonard played well; Bozoian had six kills and led the team with seven block assists, while Leonard had a team-leading 17 digs.
Â
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
Since its loss to Dartmouth on Oct. 6, Penn has gone 2-5 in conference action. The Quakers had a bit of a run directly following the match, taking down Columbia (3-0) and Cornell (3-1), but they have since lost five straight.
Â
LAST TIME AGAINST PENN
The Quakers did not make it easy, but the Big Green blanked Penn (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) at Leede last month.
Francesca Meldrum led the team with her eight kills and three block assists, ending the match with 9.5 points. Tower had a .583 hitting percentage, Horn was first with 22 assists and
Nicole Liddle led with 11 digs.
Â
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Still in second place in the standings, Princeton enters Friday's match against Harvard with an overall mark of 17-6 and 10-2 in Ivy play. Since their 3-2 loss to Yale two weeks ago that determined the top team, the Tigers have gone on a three-match winning streak, defeating Brown, Columbia and Cornell, not dropping a single set in that time.
Â
LAST TIME AGAINST PRINCETON
The Green suffered a 3-0 loss to the Tigers (18-25, 16-25, 17-25) on Oct. 5. Petit led with nine kills, a .333 hitting percentage and 9.5 points,
Corinne Cox was first with 10 assists and Leonard had 12 digs.
