NEWTON, Mass. – Dartmouth women's swimming and diving fell to Boston College in a very close meet by a score of 157.5-141.5 on Friday evening, winning eight events along the way.

The Big Green started the night off by placing third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:48.90), touching just over half a second behind BC's B relay in second. They went 1-2 in the 1000-yard freestyle, picking up 13 points when
Molly Brickman took first (10:44.50) and
Sarah Finlay came in second place (10:56.24).

In the 200-yard freestyle,
Zoe Wortzman was first (1:54.97),
Laura Barthold took second (1:55.88) and
Mia Leko came in fourth (1:56.47), earning a total of 15 points. Leko was back in the 200-yard fly, finishing in second place (2:07.57).

Connie Zhang was second in the 100-yard backstroke (59.01), narrowly beating Grace Edwards to the wall.
Caroline Poleway also picked up a point by taking fifth (1:00.28). In the 200-yard breaststroke, Poleway came in third place (2:08.16), while Laster also scored in fifth (2:12.54).

Swimming the 100-yard breaststroke,
Mackenzie Stumpf came in first place (1:05.99) by just a tenth of a second.
Maggie Deppe-Walker tied a BC swimmer for third (1:07.98), while
Kenna Van Steyn took fifth (1:08.99). Dartmouth's 50-yard freestylers touched within five-tenths of a second of each other:
Summer Martin led the way in third (24.38) and was followed by Wortzman (24.39),
Ashley Post (24.66) and
Eleanor Zwart (24.86). Martin won the 100-yard freestyle (52.14), and Wortzman earned three points of her own by placing third (53.15).

The Big Green divers combined for 12 points on the 3-meter board.
Maggie Pionzio was first (263.85), while
Isabella Lichen took third (245.02). Pionzio also won on the 1-meter board (270.52) and was followed by Lichen in second place (253.50). In the 200-yard breaststroke,
Melanya Zaraska finished highest for Dartmouth in second (2:25.53). Also scoring were Deppe-Walker (2:26.93) and Van Steyn (2:28.50). In an event not typically swam, the 100-yard IM, Stumpf touched in first place (59.56), while Zaraska was fifth (1:01.72).

In the 500-yard freestyle, the Green earned 15 of the possible 19 when
Sarah Minnigh took first (5:05.40), Post was second (5:07.87) and Barthold took fourth (5:20.68).
Cathleen Li placed second in the 100-yard fly (57.48) and Poleway took sixth (1:00.18) for a combined five points. In the last event of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay, Dartmouth came in second place (1:36.77), touching less than a second behind BC.
