HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 6 Dartmouth squash team defeated No. 3 Columbia, 5-4 where a winner was not decided until the final match at the Berry Squash Courts. Dartmouth improves to 5-1 on the year, while Columbia drops to 4-2.
Tucker Martino and
Jack Bell both swept their opponents. Martino took down Krish Kapur, 12-10 in extra points, 11-7 and 11-9.
Jack Bell won more handily, taking the first game, 11-9 and the final two 11-2 and 11-3. Also earning victories were
Brandon De Otaduy and
James Bell. De Otaduy won in four games, he took the first game in extra points and fell in the second before taking the final two, 11-6 and 11-7.
James Bell won a Gritty match in five games, he lost games three and four after winning the first two, and rebounded to take the fifth, 11-8.
Due to a decision made by the College Squash Association a week later,
Max Finkelstein was awarded a win, giving Dartmouth the match win.
Dartmouth stays in Hanover for another Ivy League contest on Sunday when they face Cornell at 12 p.m.
