FIRST ROAD IVY WEEKEND
Dartmouth is in search of its first Ivy League win this weekend when the Big Green head out for its first Ivy League weekend road trip. The Big Green first take on Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday before heading to Connecticut to face the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday.Â
LAST TIME OUT
- Dartmouth finished its season series against Harvard on Saturday and fell, 73-57.
- With the Big Green down 14-9 with 4:30 remaining in the first quarter, Belle Koclanes called a timeout and her team racked off 13 consecutive points over the next three minutes, taking a 22-14 advantage and led 22-19 at the end of the first.
- Scoring was slow in the second, Dartmouth gave up its lead and trailed 37-34 at halftime.
- The Big Green never led again, but cut it to a four-point game early in the fourth quarter.
- Cy Lippold set a career high with 26 points, making four 3-pointers and handed out three assists.
- Isalys Quinones was also in double figures with 13 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.Â
- Annie McKenna finished with nine points and tied the game high with five assists.
SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown enters Friday's contest with a 9-9 record and is 1-1 in the Ivy League after they split their two games with Yale, winning 86-71 at home and falling 84-72 on the road against the Bulldogs.
- The Bears have played three of the same opponents as Dartmouth. Brown lost to Boston University, 72-51, defeated New Hampshire, 76-70 and beat Fairfield, 68-49.
- Brown has two of the top three scorers in the Ivy League led by Justine Gaziano, who scores 19.1 ppg with 4.8 rpg. Shayna Mehta is third in the conference with 17.7 ppg, second with 5.1 apg and leads the league with 3.6 spg.
- Two more members of the Bears average double figures. Taylor Will scores 12.1 ppg, while Erika Steeves averages 10.3 ppg and leads the team with 7.1 rpg.
- Brown leads the conference in team scoring offense with 75.0 ppg, but they also give up the most points, allowing teams to score 74.8 ppg.
- Brown leads the Ivy League in steals with 10.6 spg as a team.
LAST SEASON AGAINST THE BEARS
- Dartmouth swept the season series over Brown last season.
- The Big Green won, 78-73 in Hanover and completed the sweep later in the season with a 77-60 thumping in Providence.
- In game one, five players scored in double figures for Dartmouth led by Lippold who had a 19-point, 10 assist double-double. Olivia Smith also had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Quinones had a solid game with 15 points and six rebounds, while Emily Slagle had 13 and Kate Letkewicz finished with 12.
- For Brown, Mehta led all players with 25 points, Gaziano had 18 and Steeves came away with 16.
- In game two of the series, Letkewicz scored 28 points to lead the Big Green to a 17-point win. Slagle finished with 15, while Lippold had 10 and five assists. Quinones came away with nine points and eight rebounds. Â Â Â
ALL-TIME AGAINST BROWN
- Dartmouth has dominated the all-time series over Brown, holding a 57-28 advantage dating back to 1978.
- Since this year's senior class started at Dartmouth in 2015, the Big Green are 5-1 over the Bears.
- Since 2000, The Big Green have held a 26-13 advantage over Brown.
SCOUTING YALE
- Yale has had a solid season so far and its record shows as they are 11-6 and 1-1 in the Ivy League after its split with Brown.
- Roxy Barahman leads the team and the Ivy League with 20.1 ppg to go along with 6.7 rpg, 3.8 apg and 2.2 spg. The junior is the reigning Ivy League Player of the Week for her 31-point performance against Brown and has won the award twice this season. Â
- Camilla Emsbo, a 6'5 freshman, is second on the team with 11.9 ppg and leads the team with 9.1 rpg. Emsbo was a five-star recruit and was ranked as the 34th best recruit in the country by ESPN. She is also from Lakewood, Colorado, the same hometown as Dartmouth forward Emily Dryden.
- Megan Gorman averages 7.4 ppg and 8.4 rpg, while Tori Andrew is third on the team with 9.0 ppg.
- Yale is second in the conference in rebounding as a team with 41.9 rpg and they lead the league in defensive rebounds with 29.7.
LAST SEASON AGAINST THE BULLDOGS
- Dartmouth and Yale split the season series last year, the Big Green lost the first matchup at Leede Arena, 57-39, they then turned it around and won in New Haven, 64-62 in overtime.
- In the loss, Quinones posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Cy Lippold finished with seven points, three rebounds, two blocked shots and one steal. Barahman led all scorers with 19 points.
- Game two between the teams was an overtime thriller where Andi Norman hit a game-winning three with five seconds on the clock.
- Letkewicz scored a career high 29 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
- Quinones had one of the best games of her career with 19 points and a career high 14 rebounds to go along with two blocks.
- Lippold filled the stat sheet with four points, nine assists and a career high six rebounds.
ALL-TIME AGAINST YALE
- Dartmouth has also had success over Yale in the all-time series, the Big Green lead it, 53-29.
- The Big Green hold a narrow, 20-18 record over the Bulldogs since 2000.
- But Dartmouth is 3-15 against Yale since 2010.
TOP-10
- Cy Lippold needs 10 assists to move into the top-10 in the category at Dartmouth.
- Lippold currently has 237 career assists and would tie Kim Selmore '83 in 10th on the list with 247.
- The ninth spot is only one assist away, Courtney Banghart '00 has 248 career assists.
- Lippold racked up the second most assists in a season last year with 144 and is averaging 3.1 apg for her career and is averaging 5.0 apg during her junior and senior seasons.
