BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's cross country team claimed sixth place at the 2019 NCAA Northeast Regional Friday afternoon at the University of Buffalo.

Â
Junior Sam Morton was the team's top performer, crossing in 29:26 to take 23rd overall. In earning a spot in the top-25, Morton was named to the All-Northeast Region Team.

A pack of Dartmouth runners made up the next group of scorers with senior
Reed Horton 34th in 29:41, followed by classmate
Quinn Cooney in 40th, who finished in 29:46.
Owen Ritz was not far back of Cooney, taking 43rd in 19:48.
Â
Ben Matejka bested teammate Nick Feffer for the team's final scoring position, crossing in 30:30.9 to take 88th. Feffer was 89th by less than a second, credited with a 30:31.5.
Â
Harvard (59) and Syracuse (86) earned the two automatic qualifying spots to nationals, while Iona (96) and UMass Lowell (157) were third and fourth, respectively, to put themselves in position to compete for an at-large bid.
Â
The Big Green now wait to see if any individuals will qualify for at-large bids of their own to fill out the field in Indiana next weekend at the NCAA Championship.
