Cross Country Closes Season at NCAA Northeast Regional

CONTOCOOK, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's and women's cross country teams closed out their seasons at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday, with both teams placing 14th.

"Overall, I thought both teams finished the season on a high note. I was really impressed with several of our individual runners and their performance today. Our seniors stepped up with some good races," Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, said. "Also, we're fairly young on both sides with multiple first-years scoring for us today. We look forward to taking this positive momentum into the indoor track & field season. Go Big Green!"

First-year Callahan Fielder led the group in 65th place with a time of 30:45.3. Just behind him, sophomore Max Miller took 66th in 30:47.9. Junior Ashton Bange crossed next for the Big Green, securing 87th place in 31:02.1, as sophomore Noe Kemper followed in 91st with a 31:04.4. Senior Eric Sankey rounded out scoring in 93rd, clocking 31:04.9.

Sophomore Esme Daplyn paced the Big Green with a 52nd-place finish, clocking 20:59.2. Senior Katherine Strong followed as Dartmouth's second scorer in 67th with a time of 21:10.1. Senior Mia Compton-Engle added a 74th-place finish in 21:15.1. Senior Andie Murray (106th, 21:39.1) and first-year Annamaria Bacchetta (118th, 21:47.3) closed out scoring for Dartmouth.
