HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's cross country finished fourth at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Saturday, September 19, 2026, hosted by Dartmouth, at the Dartmouth Cross Country Course.
"We had a lot of fun today out at the cross-country course for the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational. We couldn't have asked for a better weather day," said
Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country. "The meet was more than double in size than last year, and both races were very competitive. This meet has turned into one of the more premier XC meets in the northeast."
The Big Green finished in fourth place in the 8000m race at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational, as
Connor Foley led the Big Green across the finish line in fourth place, in a time of 24:53.1.
Sam Laverdiere was the second Dartmouth runner to finish, in a time of 25:04.0, in 11
th place.
Callahan Fielder was the third runner to cross the finish line for the Big Green, in 17th place and in a time of 25:16.2
Greg McGrath was the fourth runner to finish for Dartmouth, in a time of 25:42.1, in 36
th place. Rounding out the top five for the Big Green,
James Gurley finished right after McGrath, in 37
th place, in a time of 25:44.2.
