HANOVER, N.H. – For the second straight year, Dartmouth's
Katie Spanos has been named a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Northeast Region Second Team as announced Monday afternoon.
Â
The Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, native was honored for her senior season in which she led the Big Green in both goals (8) and points (21), while her five assists ranked second on the team.
Â
For her efforts, she was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team, earning all-conference recognition for the third straight season.
Â
"
Katie has been such an integral part of our program in her four years," head coach Amy Fowler said. "This regional honor is a testament to the impact she can have in any game. I'm so happy that our opponents recognized her influence as well!"
For her career, Spanos scored 29 goals and posted 76 points. That goal total ranks eighth all-time in program history, while she is sixth in total scoring. The 18 career assists she accumulated in 68 games also ranks 11th. Spanos leaves Hanover as a two-time second teamer (2017, 2019) and once earned a spot on the league's first team (2018).
In total, just 160 players from across Division I were selected to first or second teams from the nation's five regions.
