GAME DAY
Dartmouth is back in Hanover for the first time in nearly a month when they take on the defending America East champion Maine Black Bears. The Big Green are hoping that their home-court advantage will get them back on track after dropping three straight, while the Black Bears have lost four out of their last five games.
EDUCATION DAY
Education Day always brings one of the loudest and most energized crowds of the year. Students from local elementary schools will attend the game and there will be education-based events for them to participate in.
DWB ON NESN
Tuesday marks the first game this season that Dartmouth women's basketball will be broadcasted on NESN. Fans can also catch the Big Green on NESN on Dec. 18 against New Hampshire and Jan. 11 against Harvard.
LAST TIME OUT
- Chicago's Big 10 team was too much for Dartmouth as they used their overwhelming size and skill to run away with a 79-37 win on Saturday in Evanston.
- A positive that came out of the game was that the Big Green outrebounded the Wildcats, 34-32, led by Paula Lenart's seven including five offensive boards.
- Northwestern wasted no time jumping ahead to an 18-2 lead over the first 5:21 and never looked back.
- Dartmouth's longest spurts were 5-0 in both the first and third quarters.
- Annie McKenna led the Big Green with 12 points on 4-5 from beyond the arc.
- Kealy Brown and Asha Taylor each finished with seven points and two rebounds.
- Katie Douglas chipped in six points and dished out a career high five assists in her second consecutive start.
- Four players scored in double figures for Northwestern.
- Dartmouth was held to 26.4 percent shooting, while the Wildcats shot 55.9 percent and 46.2 (6-13) from three.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
- Annie McKenna leads the Big Green in points (12.3), assists (4.5), 3-pointers made (9) and minutes per game (37.8). She is 16th in the country in minutes per game.
- McKenna has scored double-digit points in five out of the six games with a season high of 15 in the opener against Vermont.
- Paula Lenart grabs a team high 7.8 rebounds per game. She ranks fifth in the Ivy League in that category and first with 3.7 offensive boards per game.
- Lenart and Anna Luce are tied for the team lead with 1.5 steals per game.
- Elle Louie blocks 1.2 shots per game for a team high.
GOOD TO BE HOME
- It's been a small sample size, but the Big Green are undefeated at Leede Arena this season.
- Dartmouth defeated Vermont, 72-55, in the opener and stayed unbeaten with a 57-52 win over Merrimack.
- The Big Green average 64.5 ppg and allow only 53.5 ppg for a +11.0-scoring margin.
- Anna Luce leads the team with 16.0 ppg at home, while Annie McKenna posts 14.5 ppg, 5.0 apg and 4.5 rpg.
- Paula Lenart puts up 11.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg and Elle Louie is even with 8.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg.
- The Big Green shoot 47 percent from the field at home.
ALL-TIME ON EDUCATION DAY
- Since the tradition began in the 2014-15 season, Dartmouth is 3-2 in Education Day games.
- In the inaugural game, the Big Green defeated Hartford, 49-43. Current assistant coach Lakin Roland posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
- Dartmouth fell to Vermont the next year, Fanni Szabo led the team with 19 points.
- The Big Green lost to Army in 2016 and Kate Letkewicz poured in 24.
- Isalys Quinones, Cy Lippold and Emily Slagle led Dartmouth to a win over UNH in 2017.
- Last season, Quinones, Paula Lenart and Kealy Brown led the Big Green to a 66-44 win over Boston University.
SCOUTING MAINE
- The Black Bears are off to one of their worst starts in recent history with a 3-7 record.
- Maine's wins are over Delaware (69-56), Navy (46-41) and Division III Husson University (104-43).
- Notable results for the Black Bears this season are losses to Brown (76-70) and Harvard (69-40). They also fell to No. 14 NC State (62-34).
- Maine averages 55.4 ppg and gives up 63.8 ppg to its opponents for a -8.4-scoring margin.
- Blanca Millan leads the team in scoring (18.2 ppg) and is tied for tops in rebounding (6.3 rpg), but she has been injured and out of the lineup since Nov. 29. Â Â
- Dor Saar has had to pick up the scoring load (9.0 ppg) in the absence of Millan, she leads the team with 4.2 apg and plays 37.2 minutes per game.
- Kelly Fogarty (6.9 ppg), Anne Simon (6.8 ppg) and Maddy McVicar (6.8 ppg) all contribute offensively.
MAINE'S LAST TIME OUT
- Tuesday marks the second consecutive Ivy League foe for the Black Bears.
- Maine is coming off a 69-40 loss at home to Harvard.
- The game was tied at four in the early going, but Harvard went on a 12-0 run, and did not give up the lead from there.
- Anna Simon led Maine with 13 points, while Maddy McVicar had 11.
- Four players scored in double figures for Harvard.
- Harvard led the rebounding battle 49-24 and held Maine to 25.5 percent shooting.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE BLACK BEARS
- Maine had been in control of the all-time series with a 13-4 record over Dartmouth.
- The Big Green have not defeated the Black Bears since November of 2005 (70-63).
- Dartmouth is 0-6 against Maine since 2006.
- The last meeting was in Hanover in 2017 and Maine won, 64-51. Kate Letkewicz, Cy Lippold and Emily Slagle were all in double figures.
