THIS WEEKEND
•   The Dartmouth men's hockey team is on the road again this weekend for a pair of league contests at No. 11 Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
•   Both games are set for 7 p.m. puck drops.
LAST TIME OUT
•   The Big Green went 0-1-1 last weekend, earning a late tie with Rensselaer, before allowing a late goal that helped Union to a 3-1 win.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
•   Clarkson is 11th in the latest national poll and comes into the weekend with a 19-9-0 overall record.
•   In league play, the Golden Knights are 10-6-0 and are tied with Harvard for third with 20 points, one back of second-place Quinnipiac and just one up on fifth-place Yale.
•   Nico Sturm continues to lead the team in scoring (34) and assists (22), while second in goals (12) behind only Haralds Egle (14). Sturm is third in the league in scoring behind a pair of Quinnipiac players.
•   Goaltender Jake Kielly leads all ECAC goalies with 19 wins and five shutouts and has been between the pipes for Clarkson 96.5% of the time this season, the highest rate in the league.
•   The Saints are currently in the midst of a very trying season as they are 4-23-1 overall and just 2-13-1 in ECAC Hockey contests.
•   One of those league wins came against the defending conference champion from Princeton two weeks ago at home, 3-2. However bright that was, it still marked St. Lawrence's only win of 2019 and its first since Dec. 7.
•   Freshman Zach Risteau leads the team with 13 points, while Cade Gleekel and David Jankowski are tied for the most goals with six each.
•   All three goalies have played considerable minutes this year with Arthur Brey playing the largest chunk (40.1%).
AGAINST THESE TEAMS
•   Dartmouth dispatched of St. Lawrence, 4-1, in the first meeting in Hanover on Jan. 25.
•   The Big Green posted 51 shots on goal in the game, the first time reaching the half-century mark in nearly nine years (Nov. 12, 2010 | W, 7-1 vs. Clarkson).
•   Unfortunately, Dartmouth could not maintain that momentum the following night as Kielly and Clarkson posted a 2-0 shutout at Thompson.
•   Egle scored the winner just 5:10 into the game with Connor McCarthy adding the insurance marker with 4:23 remaining in regulation to dash any hope of a comeback.
SCOREBOARD WATCHING
•   It's coming down to the wire for ECAC Hockey teams battling for positioning in the final weeks of the season as just eight points separate the top seven teams.
•   Each team has played every team at least once and all 12 programs have just six games remaining before heading into postseason play the second weekend in March.

ALLOW MORE SHOTS
•   Not really, but the Big Green are 4-0-0 this season when the opposition ends the game with an edge in shots on goal.
•   On the flip side, Dartmouth is 4-12-3 when outshooting their opponents, a figure that accounts for roughly 83% of the team's games.
DON'T ALLOW FOUR GOALS…
•   Pretty simple concept, but it has proven to be true in 2018-19.
•   The Green and White are 7-3-3 when holding teams to three or fewer goals, while 1-9-0 when opponents have scored four or more goals.
•   That only win when allowing four or more goals came in the season opener when Dartmouth fought back to beat Harvard, 7-6, in overtime, meaning that it has lost nine straight when allowing four goals.
LATE GOAL
•   Freshman
Drew O'Connor scored the game-tying goal in the 3-3 draw with RPI on Feb. 8.
•   O'Connor redirected a
Matt Baker point shot from the slot that found the back of the net and helped the Green salvage a point from the 10th-place Engineers.
•   The goal came at 18:56, making it the latest goal scored in regulation this season for the team in green.
•   It also marked the first game-tying goal of the year for Dartmouth as both Colgate and Bentley scored the final goal of regulation in the other two ties.
 RUTTS AND BAKES
•   Sophomores
Collin Rutherford and
Matt Baker each scored their third goals of the season last weekend.
•   Rutherford scored the second goal against RPI, while Baker notched the team's lone goal in the Union loss.
•   Both of their scoring lines are very similar his season as they each have three goals all coming at home and all coming in the second period of games. One of those three goals has come on the power play for each, while Rutherford has been credited with a game winner, while Baker has not.
STAYING OUT OF THE BOX
•   Dartmouth remains one of the least penalized teams in the nation this season at 8.04 PIMs per game, good for 11th in ECAC Hockey and 58th (out of 60) in the nation. Princeton's 6.91 is the lowest total in Division I.
•   In conference road games, the Green and White are averaging 6.86 PIMs, a figure that is 10th in the league.
•   Home games against ECAC opponents, though, is a different story as Dartmouth is second behind only RPI (11.14) as it averages 10.78 PIMs. That spike is most likely caused by the Jan. 25 St. Lawrence game in which
Brendan Less and
Cameron Roth were each assessed 12 minutes in penalties in the final seconds for post-whistle shenanigans.
THIS TRIP, LAST YEAR
•   Winning in the North Country is one of the more difficult things to do for any ECAC teams outside of St. Lawrence and Clarkson. That being said, Dartmouth was able to come away from the trip with a 3-2 win in Canton and a 3-2 victory over then No. 2 ranked Clarkson.
•   Dartmouth had not won at SLU's Appleton Arena since Valentine's Day 2014 prior to last year's 3-2 victory. The last win at Clarkson came the following year on Feb. 20, 2015 as Eric Neiley scored an overtime goal just 1:06 into the extra frame.
•   The last time the Green and White swept both teams in the same trip was in that 2013-14 campaign, beating the Saints, 3-1, and Clarkson, 6-1.
•   That sweep in 2013-14 remains the only other time a Dartmouth team has ever accomplished the feat.
ESPN+
•   All of Dartmouth home games will be carried this season on ESPN+ with Tyler Murray providing play-by-play at each home game in 2018-19.
•   In addition to games played in Hanover, ECAC Hockey road games at each school besides Rensselaer will also be carried on the network, making ESPN+ your home for 21-of-22 conference games and 25 regular season games total.
•   Postseason games will also be carried on ESPN+ in 2018-19 and will not need subscribers to pay any additional fees to watch the league's postseason.
ON THE AIR
•   Once again, Rob Kennedy will be the Voice of the Big Green on the radio.
•   Kennedy begins his second season with the team and will broadcast all 29 regular season games on 94 ESPN Radio (WTSL).
WHAT'S AHEAD?
•   The Big Green are home next weekend for the final time in the 2018-19 regular season.
•   Dartmouth will host Yale on Friday night before taking on a resurgent Brown team on Saturday in a game that will serve as Senior Night for the six-member Class of 2019.
•   The team will finish the regular season at Union and RPI, playing the two teams for the second time in a three-week span.
