HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth outscored Brown 48-18 in the second half to come away with a 78-43 victory over the Bears Saturday night at Leede Arena. The Big Green (12-11, 5-5 Ivy) finished the weekend with a sweep of Yale and Brown (9-16, 1-9 Ivy).
Â
With the win, Dartmouth pulls themselves into a tie for fourth place in the Ivy League standings with Yale.
Â
Three members of the Big Green had career nights.
Isalys Quinones tied her career high with 23 points, going 3-4 from beyond the arch, and pulled down nine rebounds.
Katie Douglas proved to be the X-factor off the bench, setting a career high 20 points on 7-11 shooting and 4-8 from downtown.
Kealy Brown tied career highs in points and rebounds with 14 and eight, while setting one with five steals.
Paula Lenart was also in double figures with 11 points to go along with six rebounds.
"Great weekend in Leede Arena. We talked in the locker room before the game about how the best place to be on a Saturday night is Leede Arena," said
Belle Koclanes, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball. "This team is coming together more-and-more every day and you see different players stepping up. There has been an urgency about our teams offensive and defensive game. Everyone is elevating their roles and skillsets and it's really exciting."
Â
It was a sloppy first half of back-and-forth basketball where neither side was able to find a rhythm. By the end of the first quarter, Brown held onto a slim 15-14 advantage. The game remained much of the same throughout most of the second quarter and the Bears stayed on top, clinging to a 25-23 lead with 3:16 to go until the half.
Â
An offensive rebound and put-back by Lenart tied the game at 25 and sparked an 8-0 run for the Big Green to finish the half where Douglas hit a jumper with 40 seconds on the clock and Quinones nailed a straight away triple as time expired to give Dartmouth a 31-25 advantage at halftime. Quinones had 17 points and eight rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
Â
The third is where the Big Green blew it open as Dartmouth outscored Brown, 28-9, in the quarter.
Kealy Brown started it off with seven out of the first nine points for the Big Green. Douglas took over from there, scoring 12 points, including a couple deep 3-pointers and an and-one basket. Douglas and
Kealy Brown each finished with 12 points in the third as Dartmouth extended its lead to 59-34.
Â
Quinones scored the first six Dartmouth points in the fourth, matching her career high before being subbed out. Douglas got to 20 points on an and-one jumper in the lane and
Kealy Brown scored her 14th point with a steal and breakaway layup as the Big Green ran away from the Bears to complete the win.
Â
Dartmouth will be put to the test next weekend with a road trip to Princeton and Penn. Game time at Princeton on Friday is at 6 p.m., while tip-off at the Palestra is also at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Â Â Â Â Â Â
