TWO MORE IN CALI
Dartmouth stays in Southern California for two midweek games before heading back to the east coast. The Big Green start on Tuesday with a rematch at CSUN before traveling an hour and a half south to Fullerton to take on the Titans Wednesday night.
CSUN/LOYOLA MARYMOUNT TOURNAMENT IN REVIEW
- The Big Green endured a winless weekend against another tough group of opponents in Northridge and Los Angeles.
- In game one against No. 2 Oklahoma, Dartmouth fell 10-0. The game was scoreless after three innings and the Sooners only led 1-0 after five, but Oklahoma scored nine runs in the final three innings to run away with the win.
- Dartmouth then fell 11-2 in five innings at CSUN. Micah Schroder drove in a run and Morgan Martinelli put the ball in play to score Calista Almer for the two Big Green runs.
- Against Cal Poly, Dartmouth lost 5-4. Billie McFadyen hit her first career home run and Schroder launched her first of the season. Schae Nelson tripled in a run as well.
- The final game in Northridge was against Cal Baptist where the Big Green were defeated 5-4 again. Martinelli had an RBI single, McFadyen had a two RBI double and Tatyanah Castillo also picked up an RBI.
- Dartmouth then played at Loyola Marymount where it dropped a 6-0 decision.
SCOUTING CSUN
- CSUN went 2-2 in the CSUN/LMU Tournament and its record now stands at 13-14.
- In the tournament, the Matadors beat Dartmouth 11-2 in five Innings, fell to No. 2 Oklahoma 11-0 in 5 Innings and split with Cal Baptist, beating the Lancers, 2-1 and losing 7-6.
- CSUN is hitting .256 as a team and is led by Megan Stevens who is hitting .513 with six home runs, 29 RBI, 15 doubles, one triple and 21 runs scored.
- Raquel Jaime is second on the team with a .321 batting average and Mackenzie Babbitt is third at .312. Babbit leads the Matadors with six stolen bases and has driven in seven runs.
- Jaime Steward is hitting .300 with two home runs, three doubles, two triples and eight RBI.
- Hailey Gonzalez is batting .271 with two home runs, eight RBI, six doubles and a triple.
- Jessica Alexander is hitting .253 with two home runs, 16 RBI and eight doubles.
- In the circle, CSUN has a 4.48 team ERA and opponents are hitting .265 against Matador pitching.
- In 21 appearances and 16 starts, Jillian James leads the way with a 2.76 ERA and has an 8-6 record with 126 strikeouts in 98.0 innings.
- Kenedee Jamerson has a 4-3 record with a 4.17 ERA and 28 K's in 41.0 innings in 15 appearances and seven starts.
- Steward went 3-3 with five RBI and two runs scored in the last meeting against the Big Green.
SCOUTING CAL STATE FULLERTON
- Cal State Fullerton is riding a two-game winning streak into Wednesday's game and is 18-10 on the season.
- The Titans have played No. 5 Washington twice and gave the Huskies a hard time both times, losing 1-0 and 2-0.
- The most recent win for Fullerton was over a familiar opponent, the Titans took down the College of Charleston, 7-1. Dartmouth was topped by the Cougars, 7-6, back on Feb. 23.
- The Titans are hitting .268 as a team and have 24 home runs.
- They are led by Alexa Neil and Ari Williams. Williams leads the team with five home runs, two triples, 20 RBI and eight stolen bases, while Neil has two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI and six steals.
- Daisy Munoz is hitting .309, while Deshea Hill is batting .307.
- In the circle, Fullerton has a 2.68 team ERA and opponents are hitting .230 against Titan pitching.
- Dani Martinez, Taylor Dockins and Sophie Frist all have sub-three ERA's in at least 10 appearances.
