JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Dartmouth sophomore
Max Frye will move on to the quarterfinals of the 400m hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Regional.
Â
Frye — the Ivy League champion in the event — ran a 51.85 at North Florida's Hodges Stadium on Thursday afternoon, securing one of the 24 bids to earn a spot in Friday's quarterfinal round (7:15 p.m.).
Â
Frye claimed third in his heat, the final of the automatic berths from that section.
Also advancing to the quarterfinals was Tim Zepf in the 800m. Zepf ran a 1:50.35 to take second in his heat and earn one of the auto bids to Friday's quarterfinal race (6:45).
Â
Ben Ose also competed in the meet as he qualified as one of the region's top pole vaulters. The senior cleared his first two heights, but was done in by the third, leaving him with a 4.96m, a mark that unfortunately did not earn one of the qualifying spots.
